A CIK-FIA Karting Licence is an official racing licence issued by a National Sporting Authority (ASN), such as the HKAA, under CIK-FIA regulations. The licence allows drivers to compete in sanctioned karting events and is divided into several grades based on the driver's age and experience.

Pathway to HKAA CIK Licence
JTR provides a structured pathway for drivers seeking to obtain a National CIK Karting Licence. JTR is a licensed HKAA racing team, and our Head Coach, Jasper Thong, is a licensed HKAA Karting Coach.
Step 1
Driver Assessment
Applicants complete an individual driving assessment where the coach evaluates driving ability, racing attitude, fitness level, and understanding of karting safety. Successful candidates may proceed to the licensing program.
Applicants must demonstrate:
Kart racing ability.
Good attitude and sportsmanship.
Appropriate fitness level.
Compliance with safety standards and procedures.
Step 2
Private Development Workshop
Drivers attend a dedicated two-day private workshop focused on the technical and practical skills required by HKAA licensing standards.
Step 3
Join JTR Racing Team
Upon completion of the workshop, drivers will be eligible to join the JTR Racing Team. Membership fees and details https://www.jtrkartacademy.com/membership
Step 4
Driver Development
Drivers will train and compete under the JTR Racing Team until they reach the required HKAA licensing standard, as determined by the licensed coach.
This includes:
Team training sessions.
Team events.
Participation in JTR-managed races.
Ongoing performance evaluation.
Step 5
Coach Endorsement
Once the required standard has been achieved, the JTR Head Coach will issue an Endorsement Certificate confirming successful completion of the Karting Competition Course.
Step 6
HKAA Registration
Applicants complete the final administrative requirements by:
Apply for HKAA membership (fees charged separately by HKAA)
Complete the required medical examination (subject to HKAA requirements)
Step 7
Licence Issuance
Upon successful completion of all requirements, the HKAA will issue the National CIK Karting Licence.
